The BNP Paribas C WorldWide Global Equity Trust has been named the WINNER of the International Equities – Active Core category at the 2022 Financial Standard Investment Leadership Awards

International Equities – Active Core

The Financial Standard Investment Leadership Awards celebrate investment managers that have consistently produced solid returns while effectively navigating investment risk. The awards span 21 categories across six major asset class sectors, with analysis conducted by Rainmaker Information. The awards, now running for the fourth year, examine performance over multiple time periods, the rigorous assessment factored in volatility, downside risk and performance ratios.

This is the second year in a row the BNP Paribas C WorldWide Global Equity Trust has won an Investment Leadership award with the Trust having won the International Equities – High Performance category in 2021.

How are the awards determined?

The awards categories are based on the common asset classes of equities, bonds, property and multi-asset. They are then further divided into subclasses. Active core and High performance are differentiated based on their tracking error, or level of active risk taken versus the relevant benchmark, noting that those in the High performance category are often concentrated portfolios.

Benchmark indexes are used to help determine the awards categories. In the case of large capitalisation strategies in equities, benchmarks are used to help calculate the beta-adjusted alpha of the fund, which goes into the final score the strategy receives. This is a measure of the fund’s return after taking into account the market exposure the fund has taken in implementing its strategy. The Investment Leadership Awards take both return and risk measures into account.

The BNP Paribas Asset Management Australia team are delighted to see our Trust receive this recognition and we thank Financial Standard  and the Investment Leadership Awards committee for their consideration.
