The Investment Leadership Awards recognise investment managers that have proven to consistently add value to investors through sustained investment performance over the short, medium, and long term. The awards cover numerous categories across six major asset classes, with analysis conducted by Rainmaker Information. This year, they were commissioned to judge over 120 investment managers and their investment strategies and products.
The awards categories are based on the common asset classes of equities, bonds, property and multi-asset. They are then further divided into subclasses. Active core and High performance are differentiated based on their tracking error, or level of active risk taken versus the relevant benchmark, noting that those in the High performance category are often concentrated portfolios.
Benchmark indexes are used to help determine the awards categories. In the case of large capitalisation strategies in equities, benchmarks are used to help calculate the beta-adjusted alpha of the fund, which goes into the final score the strategy receives. This is a measure of the fund’s return after taking into account the market exposure the fund has taken in implementing its strategy. The Investment Leadership Awards take both return and risk measures into account.
BNP Paribas Asset Management are delighted to see our Trust receive this recognition and we thank Financial Standard and the Investment Leadership Awards committee for their consideration.
